Cardiff is no stranger to bold new openings, but this spring the city is quite literally turning things on its head.

Upside Down House UK is bringing its gravity-defying experience to Cardiff, making it the brand’s very first Welsh location and adding a playful new landmark to the capital’s ever-evolving visitor scene.

Opening on Queen Street, the attraction places itself firmly at the heart of the action, just moments from Cardiff Castle, the bustling shops of St David’s Dewi Sant, and the iconic Principality Stadium. Even before stepping inside, visitors will spot it instantly thanks to its striking green, white and red exterior, guaranteed to stop passers-by in their tracks.

A World Turned Upside Down

Step through the door and normality disappears. Designed with families, social media lovers and curious explorers in mind, Upside Down House Cardiff is a fully immersive experience where ceilings become floors and everyday spaces transform into playful illusions.

Inside, eight themed rooms flip reality on its head, inviting visitors to climb, pose and explore from entirely new perspectives. Each setting is carefully designed to encourage interaction, laughter and, of course, plenty of camera-ready moments.

Made for Memory-Making

Part art installation, part adventure playground, the attraction taps into the growing demand for experiences that are as shareable as they are enjoyable.

Alex Barbary, Associate Director of the brand, describes the Cardiff opening as a major milestone.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring the Upside Down House to Cardiff,” he says. “Operating our first location in Wales is a huge step for us. Cardiff’s creativity and culture are woven throughout the experience, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors from across Wales and beyond.”

Right in the City Centre

Convenience is part of the appeal. Positioned between the Capitol Shopping Centre and NatWest Bank, the attraction is easy to reach whether you’re arriving for a full shopping day or a quick city escape. Nearby parking options include St David’s Dewi Sant and NCP Dumfries Place, while Cardiff Central railway station sits just a short walk away for visitors travelling from further afield.
