Fun, family events this summer
Get out there and enjoy everything South Wales has to offer this summer.
1 - 2 July
Wales Airshow
The hugely-popular Wales Airshow returns this summer with thrilling air displays in the skies over Swansea Bay. The excitement is not only limited to the sky as there will be a ton of family entertainment on the ground too including replica planes, interactive military displays, a fun fair and live music.
8-9 July
Dance Days
Swansea will be buzzing when Dance Days takes over the city centre, Swansea Marina and National Waterfront Museum for a free free weekend of dance performances and workshops. Taliesin is bringing together performers from across the UK and beyond, in a world-class dance festival.
22 Jul - 29 Aug
Family Fun Park
An exciting line up of outdoor funfair attractions will fill the Roald Dahl Plass located in the heart of Cardiff Bay. Enjoy favourites such as ‘The Dodgems’ and ‘Pirate Party Fun House’, as well as various children’s rides and game stalls with a chance to win massive cuddly toys. There will also be a selection of treats.
15 July
World Triathlon Para Series Swansea
Head to the Prince of Wales Dock, Swansea to see the world’s best paratriathletes battle it out for gold across the city. As well as world class racing, there will also be live entertainment, food and drink and an event village to keep the family entertained, with free entry!
22 July
Merthyr Food Festival
Calling all foodies, don't miss the Merthyr Food Festival this month for a fun-filled day with lots of live entertainment. The festival kicks off at 10am, it's free entry and just £1 to park all day in the town centre pay and display car parks. You can expect over 40 mouth-watering stalls packed with produce and tasty treats, from wood-fired pizza and mac and cheese to authentic Greek dishes, Persian stews, tapas and paella.
22 - 23 July
Aberdare Park Road Races
A two-day, two-wheel spectacular, the Aberdare Park National Road Races are a highlight of the summer events calendar for motorcycle fans who flock to Rhondda Cynon Taf for a weekend of speed and excitement in picturesque surroundings. Every year, the best riders from across the UK head to the County Borough to compete on the unique circuit around Aberdare Park.
5 Aug
Brecon County Show
The Brecon County Show is a great day out for the whole family with a wide range of events and attractions to be enjoyed. There's over 200 trade stands and a fantastic food hall with food demonstrations. Kids will love the fairground attractions and main ring entertainment that includes the amazing Quad Stunt Show and world famous Tigers Parachute Display Team to name a few. If you're an animal lover you'll see dog classes, horses, cattle, goats, sheep-shearing, micro pigs and alpacas. There's also a countryside arena, woodland and forestry section, horticulture, craft marquee, music, vintage vehicles and lots more.
