Returning on 29–30 August 2026, this much-loved festival transforms the heart of Caerphilly into a foodie paradise, celebrating the town’s world-famous cheese while serving up an irresistible mix of entertainment, shopping and delicious local produce.

More Than Just Cheese

Of course, cheese is the star of the show. Whether you’re a die-hard Caerphilly cheese fan or simply love discovering artisan flavours, you’ll find plenty to tempt your taste buds. Wander between stalls packed with local cheeses, artisan breads, chutneys and sweet treats, then sample everything from gourmet street food to refreshing local drinks.

But don’t make the mistake of thinking it’s all about cheese!

With two live music stages, one at the rear of Caerphilly Castle and another in the town centre, featuring a range of amazing artists, there’s a festival atmosphere from morning until late afternoon. Add in street entertainers, a funfair, craft stalls and bustling town-centre businesses joining in the celebrations, and you’ve got a weekend that’s just as much about soaking up the atmosphere as it is filling your shopping bags.

A Picture-Perfect Festival Setting

One of the biggest draws has to be the setting. The festival stretches through Caerphilly town centre and alongside the spectacular Caerphilly Castle, creating one of the most picturesque festival locations in Wales. It’s the perfect excuse to combine a day of foodie treats with a wander around one of the country’s most iconic medieval landmarks. There is an entry fee for Caerphilly Castle, for ticket prices visit the Cadw website.

Fun for the Whole Family

Families are well catered for too. Little ones will love the fairground rides and entertainers, while four-legged family members don’t have to miss out either, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome to join the fun. There are plenty of picnic spots if you fancy grabbing some local goodies to enjoy lunch outdoors, making it an easy-going day out for all ages.

Don’t Miss It!

Best of all, entry is completely free. Whether you’re hunting for artisan treats, dancing along to live music, browsing handcrafted gifts or simply looking for a fantastic summer day out, the Caerphilly Cheese Festival delivers the perfect recipe for a memorable Bank Holiday weekend.
