Taking its title from Captain Beefheart's iconic debut album, the exhibition examines the spaces we know best, questioning whether our homes are truly safe havens or places where the uncanny quietly lingers beneath the surface.

Through an intriguing collection of paintings, sculpture and mixed-media works, visitors are invited to explore themes of family life, childhood, memory and identity. From reimagined household furniture and atmospheric interiors to colourful landscapes with darker undertones, each artist reveals the hidden stories that unfold behind closed doors.

The three artists are among the UK's most celebrated contemporary painters, with impressive exhibition histories and multiple award-winning works, including recognition through Wales' prestigious BEEP Painting Biennial.

Whether you're a regular gallery-goer or simply curious to discover something different, Safe as Milk promises an engaging and thought-provoking experience that challenges the ordinary and celebrates the power of imagination.
