Fresh from the success of highly acclaimed new album Council Skies – British music icon Noel and his band will play the Welsh capital’s stunning venue on Wednesday July 17.

Made up of Juliette Jackson (vocals), Soph Nathan (guitar), Celia Archer (bass), and Fern Ford (drums), The Big Moon released their third album Here is Everything to critical acclaim towards the end of 2022 and packed last summer with performances across the UK festival calendar.

They also visited Cardiff for a sold out show as part of the Llais Festival in October and will now return to the city for their biggest Welsh date.

Noel played an unforgettable sold-out show at Cardiff Castle in 2019 – and his return this summer will delight his army of fans. With a set of songs that includes a wide selection of Oasis classics as well as featuring a cross section of material from the past dozen years of his highly successful career as a solo artist.

As a founding member and the principal songwriter of British music legends Oasis, Noel Gallagher has sold more than 70 million records, including the band’s generation-defining albums Definitely Maybe and What’s The Story Morning Glory?

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds highly anticipated fourth studio album, Council Skies, was released last June. From the evocative album title to the cover art, and the lyrics themselves, it saw Noel bringing a more personal perspective and paying homage to his Mancunian roots.

The album, which includes the singles Pretty Boy, Easy Now, Council Skies and Open The Door See What You Find, is Noel’s most varied and accomplished solo record to date and its release was met with global critical acclaim.

The headlining show for TK Maxx Presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle is presented by promoters DEPOT Live and Cuffe and Taylor.

Nick Saunders from DEPOT Live said: “The sounds of The Big Moon will be the perfect way to start the evening as we come together for the return of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds to Cardiff Castle.

“We have an amazing summer of live music lined up and we can’t wait to see everyone here very soon.”
