Meet the Artists

Richard James

Richards James explores the expressive potential of paint through a focus on process and colour. His subjects range from swimmers to still life, reflecting an interest in experimentation rather than consistency. Each work is an exploration, guided by the medium itself.

Rhiannon Davies

An ever-evolving painter, Rhiannon Davies brings a bold, questioning spirit to each new body of work. Her practice, fuelled by themes of identity and fashion, is marked by a relentless curiosity and an exceptional command of the medium.

Zena Blackwell

Zena Blackwell’s paintings delve into the emotional terrain of childhood, fusing sharp personal memories with those of her children. Her work captures fleeting yet formative moments that shape our sense of self, resonating with a quiet intensity and psychological depth.

Lucia Jones

lending painting and film, Lucia Jones explores memory and self-perception through cinematic imagery. Drawing on visuals from obscure mid-century B-movies, her work examines the slipperiness of memory and the constructed nature of identity.

Join us on Saturday 5th July to meet the artists, explore their studios, and celebrate a decade of creative practice in Fairwater.
