What's on at Chapter this October Half Term

From film, workshops and free packed lunch art packs - there's lots going on at Chapter Cardiff this half term.

From 31 October to 4 November, Chapter has lots of free activities along with free packed lunches, no questions asked, there's a range of options for children and parents alike. This is being offered in recognition of the increased cost-of-living crisis, offered with no qualifying factors, simply take a packed lunch and enjoy at Chapter or at home.

Free packed lunches include a bilingual Spooky Things arts pack for 7-12 year olds, devised by Chapter Gallery Assistant, Richard Higlett: fly through the time vortex, make a witches’ hat, go on a spider hunt and many more activities in this pack for culture vultures.

Free family films run until the end of the year at Chapter and to tie in with Halloween, this half term, Chapter has put together a spooky season perfect for all ages. Featuring Hotel Transylvania (U), which follows Dracula’s daughter, Mavis on her 118th Birthday and an unexpected guest; Monster House (PG) which sees DJ, Chowder, and Jenny try to defeat the living monster house creature, and The Witches (PG), a 1990’s classic that sees the Grand High Witch revealing a plan to turn all children into mice!

Alongside a spooktastic collection of free films, Chapter’s programming of affordable cinema includes Cardiff Animation Festival’s Spooky Family Animation (adv7+) to get you in the mood for Halloween. On 1st and 3rd November Workshop-leader extraordinaire Matt Beere leads informal drop-in workshops from 10am to 12 noon, and 1pm to 3pm, perfect for all young creatives in these arts and crafts focussed sessions.

Call the Waves, an incredible exhibition of visual art, bringing together artists from Wales, Morocco, and Palestine to celebrate our relationships with water, is free to enter, with no need to book in advance.
