See the world from a whole new perspective at Techniquest
See Earth as you’ve never seen it before, as Gaia lands at Techniquest alongside spooky science and after-hours fun.

Cardiff Bay’s science centre has unveiled Gaia, a mesmerising six-metre artwork of the Earth by acclaimed artist Luke Jerram.
Offering a spectacular new perspective on our planet, the installation invites visitors to experience Earth as astronauts see it from space. Take in the intricate detail of its surface while listening to an atmospheric soundtrack featuring the voices of NASA astronauts, just remember to bring your own headphones.
Gaia at Techniquest is the first permanent installation of its kind in Wales and is included with standard admission, alongside more than 130 hands-on exhibits.
Spooky science this half-term
October half-term is the perfect excuse for a family day out, with extra spooky science activities taking place every day.
Catch a hair-raising live science show, get gloriously messy in The Slime Lab, or leave Earth behind altogether with a journey through the stars in the planetarium. With plenty to discover, experiment with and explore, there’s something to keep curious minds of all ages entertained.
After-hours adventures
The fun isn’t just for younger visitors. This October, Techniquest is hosting a packed programme of adult events alongside Gaia.
Get creative with pottery painting alongside Peggy’s Pots on Friday 2 October, unwind beneath the Earth with MandaYoga on Tuesday 20 October, or embrace the retro scares at an 80s Fright Night Halloween party on Thursday 22 October.
Whether you’re planning a family half-term adventure, an unusual night out or simply want to see our planet from an extraordinary new perspective, there’s plenty to discover at Techniquest this October.
