Scream Time returns to haunt Margam Country Park
Things are going bump in the night at Margam Country Park once again, as Scream Time returns with more scare actors, sinister new routes and some seriously creepy characters waiting in the darkness.

Ghosts, ghouls, witches and zombies are taking over the atmospheric Port Talbot estate this Halloween – and they’re bringing chainsaws, evil clowns and a few demons along for the ride.
Now in its third year, Scream Time transforms Margam’s gothic castle, graveyard and woodland into a high-impact horror trail packed with jump scares, live performances and interactive encounters.
And this year, organisers promise more scare actors than ever.
Enter if you dare
The nightmare begins in the Haunted Forest, where crazed axeman Jack and his wicked coven are waiting.
From there, visitors head towards the castle and Boneyard, where the Reapers will check them in. Grab a Halloween selfie and catch your breath while you can – Hell’s Hallway is next.
At the Nightmare Carnival, evil clown Rotten Rodney is master of ceremonies, alongside a fire-breathing hellraiser, rides, games, food and warming fire pits.
Feeling brave? The adults-only Butcher’s Backyard is home to Mad Murdock and his chainsaw. If it all gets too terrifying, visitors can use a safe word and the actors will back off.
Things get darker…
Inside the castle, Dr Needles awaits in the Hospital Asylum, while vampires stalk the Crypt Corridor and strange characters gather in the séance room.
A demonic live performance in the main hall leads into a dark maze filled with scares behind every door, before visitors enter Sector 7 – a biohazard zombie zone.
Survive that and the Reaper will be waiting to bid you farewell.
Real ghosts?
Margam provides an appropriately eerie backdrop. The estate is famous for its ghost stories, including reported sightings of children in Victorian clothing and visitors claiming to have felt their hair being pulled.
It’s also home to real creatures of the night, with several species of bats living on the estate. Organisers work with an ecologist to ensure the event doesn’t disturb them.
Event organiser Janine Maycock says: “We listen to feedback each year to make our event bigger and better than ever. We can’t wait to offer you a terrifying welcome with our biggest Scream Time yet.”
