The couple’s journey to the altar was a tale of careful planning and heartfelt spontaneity, beginning with a December decision during Liz’s pregnancy to wed on their anniversary. After welcoming their baby in April, they embarked on transforming their vision into reality, finalising wedding details in just a few short months.

The wedding was at the registry office in Cardiff, an absolutely gorgeous mansion house called Insole Court.  Their reception took place in the venue’s library room, a cosy haven brimming with books and magnificent oak furniture. Following the celebrations at Insole Court, the couple and their close-knit party dined at Mesen, a restaurant in Rhiwbina, known for its exquisite cuisine. Their magical day culminated with cocktails at The Dead Canary, a speakeasy-style bar in the heart of Cardiff.

Wanting an intimate and authentic celebration, Liz and Tomos focused on creating an unforgettable day filled with good company, delightful music, delectable food and sumptuous drinks. Their wedding was a testament to their minimalistic yet deeply personal approach, with plans to host a more elaborate celebration in a few years.

Liz, ever mindful of costs yet eager for elegance, vowed to thrift her wedding outfit. Her perseverance on platforms like Vinted eventually led her to the perfect bargain. After the joyous arrival of their baby, Liz was thrilled to fit into her dream dress, embodying the grace and style she had envisioned.

Floral arrangements were kept to a minimum as Liz mastered TikTok tutorials to shape supermarket roses into exquisite, papery blooms, adding a personal DIY touch to their wedding’s aesthetics.

Capturing each magical moment was the talented photographer, Jake Morley. They loved his observational, documentary style of photography, and especially loved his use of light and black and white grading. Renowned for an eye for authenticity and elegance, Jake perfectly encapsulated the couple’s unique journey with artistry and care. His work highlighted the intimate beauty of the day, immortalising Liz and Tomos’s love story with stunning imagery that resonates with simplicity and warmth. They would absolutely recommend Jake to other couples.

“He captured the spirit and atmosphere of the day so beautifully, the emotion, expression and vibe he was able to convey from the day is absolutely invaluable and we cherish our photographs so much. All of our guests commented that he was not intrusive or overbearing in any way - Jake just managed to camouflage himself and blend in with everyone and yet catch so many beautiful photos. He put us all at ease and made us feel so comfortable. I think photographs from your day are such a crucial part of a wedding, and spending time being photographed by Jake was a pleasure!
